With 8 years of organic farming experience behind her, Jen (along with the rest of the crew) decided to take on the challenge of Blackberry Meadows Farm in 2007. She's worked on farms in West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and as far away as Scotland and New Zealand. After all of her worldly farm travels, she took time out to earn her Masters in Sustainable Systems from Slippery Rock University, where she studied the science and theory behind the various styles of Sustainable Agriculture. It's important to keep farm work flowing. With keeping the big picture in mind, she helps to make this farm an enjoyable and productive place to be. |

Greg Boulos, our biofuels extraordinaire, is the on-farm handyman and can break (and fix) just about anything. With a Masters in Sustainable Systems from Slippery Rock University he’s put to use his vast knowledge base of alternative energy, green building and ecological design to catalyse green projects around the Pittsburgh region. He has helped to establish four green businesses in the Pittsburgh region in the past four years and is working (endlessly) on helping to advance their missions. He’s our business manager (of sorts) and wrote our stellar business plan! |

Computer tech turned tractor guy, Dave has done well transitioning from an office job to working in the great outdoors. He now works more than he ever has and LOVES it! Not only does he till and fertilize the fields when needed, and tow everyone around on the back of the transplanter, but, he is also our main man for farmers markets (find him at the Phipps Market on Wednesday and Monroeville or the Strip District on Saturday). Not only that! He’s also the guy that keeps this website up and running smoothly – we have a lot to thank Dave for! |

Isn't it great that teachers get summer vacations? Well, not for Heath. Come June, he takes off his thinking cap and dons his straw hat! Heaths full time job is a middle school natural science teacher. In his off time, he's out here on the farm working hard to grow good food. Heath’s the guy you go to for information on almost any type of natural organism on the farm. He’s almost like a walking encyclopedia, but if he doesn’t know the answer….he’ll make it up. |
